The Future of Music

Well, so far this decade is turning out to be as horrendous as the last. With each new day we get a new blown-out-of-proportion political scandal, destructive earthquake, and news that wretchedly unfunny Jay Leno might take back his old spot on NBC, giving Conan the boot. If I've learned anything over the last 10 years it's this: turn off the tv, make yourself a drink and rock out! Here, a list of upcoming music releases over the next three months that will give us all something to look forward to.

January 19th
Missy Elliott - Block Party
Spoon - Transference

January 26th
Animal Collective - Campfire Songs
The Magnetic Fields - Realism

February 2nd
Midlake - The Courage of Others

March 9th
Broken Bells (a collaboration between Shins frontman James Mercer and Danger Mouse)
Frightened Rabbit - The Winter of Mixed Drinks
Liars - Sisterworld

March 23rd
She & Him - Volume Two

A few others rumored to come out this year that we're hoping for:
Andre 3000
Arcade Fire
Big Boi
Blitzen Trapper
Eminem
Fleet Foxes
LCD Soundsystem
Lupe Fiasco
MGMT
M.I.A.
Of Montreal
The Roots
Amy Winehouse (we're not holding our breath on this one)

  5. Both exciting Tommy! I knew Radiohead was in the studio but I have not heard if they are planning a 2010 release or not. I know they are perfectionist so I don't want to get to excited just yet.
