Tick Talk

Nothing is more depressing than walking outside after work and finding only the gloom of nightfall quickly approaching. It's cold, it's dark and you can almost feel the Vitamin D draining out of your body. In this situation there is little to do but curse the idiotic and outdated time-change ritual and hurry home to have some warm soup. The good news is you're not alone. Here are 5 songs about that man-made and bewitching abstraction known as time.

Built To Spill - "Time Trap"
As you feel the daylight and heat of the Indian Summer slipping away, you may indeed feel trapped by time. But as Built to Spill prove here, there is no good reason why you can't rage against it!

Deltron 3030 - "Time Keeps on Slippin"
As headlights and streetlights come on (way too early) put this on your Ipod an imagine you're walking home in your own little hip, futuristicly apocalyptic world.

Pink Floyd - "Time"
It's not really dark outside. You're just living in black and white, and your name is Dorthy, and there's a tornado coming, and you're being watched on television by a group of stoned college students. So relax.

Thom Yorke - "The Clock"
This one makes you feel like you have to hurry up and get home to escape whatever it is lurking in the dark and waiting around the corner. Run!

Elliott Smith - "Twilight"
Because sometimes you just have to give in and accept that times are getting dark and there's nothing you can do about it. Sad but freeing.
