Sending Out an S.O.S.

Mayday. Mayday. We are communicating from a snowed-in apartment building two stories above the ground in the U Street area of the eastern seaboard metropolis of Washington, DC. We have received nearly two feet of snow and supplies are running low. Please, if you get this message, we need board games, hard alcohol and season 3 of Dexter.

As you can see in the picture below, all forms of travel have become primitive.

There has been an outbreak in a severe form of cabin fever and in some cases, violence. Attempts at escape have proved futile and as you can see below, have resulted in loss of the ability to stand.

While I have heard reports of similar storms dating back to the late 20th century and even one terrific song about it by the Walkmen, I can assure you that this storm has officially been dubbed the Snowpocalypse. As I have no other options, I am forced to take the advice of the Arcade Fire. In their song "Neighborhood #1" they recount their own storm surviving tale - a harrowing, detailed account of their city being covered in snow and what they had to do to survive. Until further notice, I will be tunneling. 10-4.
